Join Friends of the Onawa Public Library

Friends of the Onawa Public Library is a nonprofit advocacy organization which supports the Library. Our volunteer members advocate, educate, and raise funds on behalf of the Library, its patrons, and the community.

Friends of the Library are people who know that a community with a first rate library is a better place to live.  The ideas and voices of individuals and local businesses are needed to support and promote one of our community’s greatest assets.

We hope that you’re as passionate about our libraries as we are.

Our Friends continues to do wonderful things for the library.

Each year our group provides:

  • The audio book contract
  • The subscription for the Sioux City and Omaha newspapers
  • Co-sponsorship of the Summer Reading Program
  • Other items that the library needs as requested; such as a DVD cleaner, purchasing blinds for the library, sponsoring a grant for a laminating machine, a paper shredder, and round tables for the meeting room.
This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
