Kiwanis
Dec 8, 2025, 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Kiwanis helps kids around the world. Local clubs look out for our communities and the international organization takes on large-scale challenges, such as fighting disease and poverty. We are generous with our time. We are creative with our ideas. We are passionate about making a difference. And we have fun along the way.

For more than a century, Kiwanis has created opportunities for children to be curious, safe and healthy regardless of the community in which they live. When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things can happen.

Amazing Iowa!!! with Michelle Sprout Murray
Dec 11, 2025, 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM

michelle sprout murray.jpeg

Whether you’re a native, a recent resident, or just passing through, these stories of the weird, wild, and wonderful people and places of the great state of Iowa are waiting for you. Take a peek inside and you’ll find people you’ve heard about in the news . . . as well as those you should have heard about. Learn about mobsters and artists (and why they loved to hide out here), musicians and authors (and why they seemed to flourish here), astronauts and inventors (and how they dreamed big), and athletes and coaches (and how they put Iowa in the spotlight). Of course, you’ll discover the only remaining Frank Lloyd Wright–designed hotel in the world, Iowa’s Hollywood and Broadway connections, and tantalizing foods that will make your mouth water. If that’s not enough, check out the world record holder for hiccups; the woman whose daughter never had a Rice Krispie Treat, although her mom invented them; or some of the most haunted buildings and bridges in America, all found in this amazing state! Let Michelle Sprout Murray be your tour guide of her home state and prepare to be amazed!
