We are an authorized Passport Agency. We will be able to assist you in applying for a passport or a passport renewal. We have 2 agents who are able to help you.

Monday - Thursday: 11:30 - 5:00
Friday: 11:30 - 4:00
Processing time: Regular service 8 - 11 weeks from the time the processing agent receives the application (not the day of your passport appointment)
Expedited service 5 - 7 weeks from the time the processing agent receives the application (not the day of your passport appointment)
Please be advised that it can take extra time beyond processing times due to issues in the U.S. Postal Services
Passport Requirement Checklist
- Must make an appointment (no same-day appointments)
- Passport forms can be picked up at the library or printed from travel.state.gov
- Passport application filled out in BLACK ink (Take your time! If you mess up you must start a new form)
- State issued birth certificate with raised seal (original or certified copy) to be sent in with the application (this is not the hospital birth record with footprints)
- Valid state issued photo ID
- Supporting documents for name change, adoption, etc
- Passport Photo taken within the last 6 months (Onawa Sentinel and Onawa Democrat can do these) ***WE DO NOT TAKE PICTURES AT THE LIBRARY***
- Check made out to US Dept. of State
- Adult Book $130 Adult Card: $30
- Child Book $100 Child Card: $15
- Other fees vary if faster service is required
- Check or cash to Onawa Public Library for processing ($35 per passport)
