Songwriter, musician, poet, performer, recording artist, producer, educator, archivist and world traveler, Mike Langley lives and breathes his art. Mike grew up in a musical family, playing gigs in Nashville as a high-schooler 1976-1979 onstage with his dad Jack. When the family returned to Sioux City, Mike studied French and German 1981-1985 at Morningside College, before crossing the pond to pursue a life performing and creating original music in Europe 1985-1997 with his brother Jon. A northwest Iowa native, and an inductee in both the Iowa Rock and Roll Music Association (IRRMA) Hall of Fame and the Midwest All-Music Association (MAMA) Hall of Fame, Mike teaches guitar at Morningside University and performs regularly at cultural centers, schools and festivals in the region, either solo or with his family band The Langleys. Mike’s original music is featured coast-to-coast on radio shows in Seattle, Boston and Toronto, and overseas on radio programs in Ireland, the UK and Germany. Mike recently went on his 7th tour in Ireland in the summer of 2025.
